3M Perfect-It Foam Compoundpadss are 3M's best-performing foam polishing pads for refining sanding scratches, low-speed polishing, removing imperfections and more. The foam surface pattern provides more contact with the surface, holds compound better and reduces slinging. Double-sided pads work with 3M Quick Connect adapters on rotary polishers; single-sided pads work with the Hookit system for easy changing.
Our 3M Perfect-It Foam Compoundpadss combine features that save time and improve results, for the highest performance at every step during compounding. Pad surface patterns are designed into the foam to hold more compound and reduce oscillation and provide more surface contact for maximum efficiency. Double- and single-sided constructions work together with our Quick Connect and Hookit fastening systems to save time and extend pad life. Choose from a variety of pads for specific applications, including working with cured, hard or medium finish paint, removing imperfections and scratches and refining P1200 or finer sanding scratches, even in small areas. We developed these foam pads as part of our Perfect-It colour-coded paint finishing system to keep pace with evolving lacquer and clearcoat technologies. Foam pads are generally less aggressive and provide a finer finish than wool pads, ideal for the critical polishing phases of paint refinishing. They are typically used at higher speeds and use a combination of cutting action and heat generation to slightly melt the surface coating to remove fine scratches and swirl marks. Our double-sided 3M Perfect-It Foam Compoundpadss have a centre plate for extra durability and work with our Quick Connect polishing adapter. The metal adapter features 5/8-inch threads, allowing users to quickly attach and centre our compounding pads on a wide range of standard rotary polishers. They can detach them just as quickly, making pad changes easy and quick, saving time . Thanks to our Hookit Velcro feature, single-sided 3M Perfect-It Foam Compoundpadss can be attached, removed and reattached cleanly, easily and very quickly for maximum uptime. Hookit pads have J-shaped hooks of the type most commonly used in everyday Velcro applications. Hookit backing pads grip the brushed nylon loops of 3M Perfect-It Foam Compound pads and hold them firmly, even in aggressive use. Yet the pads can also be removed very quickly, saving time on multi-step compound jobs. 3M Perfect-It Foam Compoundpadss are the best-performing double-sided and single-sided foam polishing pads we offer. They are an integral part of our 3M Perfect-it paint finishing system - developed for when the finest finish is required for any level of clearcoat and paint repair.
